Amos Sr. was murdered and that is all I know. I have never found anything about it. I found Amos Jr.'s account in a newspaper. He was a shoemaker and was shot by another shoemaker, William Lyons in an argument over what prices they should charge for repairs. It was in 1916 and he died as a result of those gun shot wounds later in 1920 in Grayson, KY. Lyons escaped and I don't know if he was ever captured and went to court or whatever happened to him.
Amos Sr. was murdered in 1858 in Morgan County, I think. I do not know any of the particulars. Seems it would be in a newspaper somewhere but I'm not near Kentucky or have not been very successful researching newspaper archives.
Are you related, or do you know anything or anyone else who may be researching this family?
Thanks,
Glenna

Amos Sr. also died of gun shot wounds, in a dispute with a neighbor I believe.
