Emma Ridgway was a domestic servant in the Officers Quarters of Hyde Road Barracks Manchester in 1890. She gave birth to a son George Foulkes Ridgway (Foulkes was an Officer there and her baby's father) 8th June 1890. She gave George to Elizabeth and James Barnes to bring up and left for Canada with her family. Elizabeth Barnes was my gt grandmothers sister.

In WW1 Joe Ridgway came over, with the Canadian Airforce, to see George but unfortunately he was away fighting in France.

George married my grandmother, but I would love to know what happened to Emma and the rest of the family. Hopefully someone will know.
