Hello, and welcome to my journal. My name is Abigail McIntyre and I am building this family tree for my children. Any assistance will be graciously considered. Especially tips to make this journal more interesting.

We all have to start somewhere, so I have decided to start with my husband's father, Colin Alexander McIntyre (1), my children's grandfather. CAM (1)was born in Glen Innes, NSW, Australia, about 1924. He married my husband's mother, Dorothy Joan Patterson, at Liverpool, NSW, on December 27, 1946. At the time of his marriage Colin was 32, a maintenance engineer, living at Kogarah, on Rocky Point Road. Unfortunately, Colin and Joan were separated before my husband's 2nd birthday. Colin died in Queensland, in 1986. As my husband was estranged from his father for most of his life, family details on his father's side are mostly hearsay. His mother and her parents are also deceased. My husband and my two sons are the only males left of our generation to carry on the McIntyre family name.

I know Colin (CAM 1) had brothers, so we can assume my husband may have male cousins and uncles, etc., he has never met. Colin was a soldier when he was young, and fought in World War 2. I would like to hear from any soldiers who served with him in Papua New Guinea.
Colin was reputed to be an excellent marksman and agriculturist.
I was told Colin studied agriculture at Sydney University, and was known to raise experimental crops, including tomatoes, among others.
