You're welcome. The only way to be sure with a common and popular surname like HARDY is to do the tried and true genealogy of working backwards from yourself ... and purchase bdm certs. See if any relatives have paperwork first though to save on costs.

If you supply the Registration No. when ordering securely online from NSW bdms (link above), certs are $5.00 cheaper.

However, if you don't want the actual cert and are quite happy with a typewritten doco, google Joy Murrin she's a Transcription Agent, and it's cheaper again.

Think about perhaps having your tree online say maybe at TribalPages at least it is free, with the option to upgrade to a paid site allowing more options. And you can get your relatives to view your site and add more/help you with the tree.
