Who was Acacia BARLEY - married Leonard Saywell TARRANT 1920

Journal by ngairedith

Acacia Barley - unknown birth date or place at this time, married Leonard Saywell Tarrant in 1910
Leonard at the time was aged 46 which could (or not) mean that it was a second marriage for him

Acacia is reported to have died in 1976 which was 54 years after Leonard so she may have remarried in that time

Any information on her, her paretns or any children would be appreciated

I am Acacia's granddaughter. She was known as Cassie, born in Warkworth 24.01.1886, one of two daughters of the Rev. Charles Edward and Mary ann Barley (nee King). Her sister's name was Myrtle, and I think they had a brother Alfred (but he may have been a counsin) who became a dentist.
Mytle married an Australian and moved to Australia where she had three children.

Her father Charlie, died when Cassie was 3 years old and her mother Mary Ann remained in Hawera until her own death at 100yrs of age.

Cassie married Leonard Saywell Tarrant at Wesley Church, Hawera 05.09.1910. It was a first marriage, and Cassie didn't ever remarry (she was a widow for 62 years). She reared her sons without the benefit of a widow's pension by teaching music, and both boys had successful careers as Accountants.

Cassie and Leonard had two sons, Jack Saywell 05.06.1911-30.01.1979 and Alfred Edward (known as Ted) 03.02.1915-02.09.1995.

Jack married Valma Lorraine Ross at St Mary's, Waipukurau 07.11.1941. This was a wartime wedding. Jack had left Taranaki to work in the National Bank in Waipukurau, became a Flight Lieutenant in the RNZAF, and returned to Waipukurau after the war where he set up an accountancy practice and they reared their family.

Jack and Val had three children:

Thnak you for that information,
You will see how it all looks on the private message I sent with the link to the tree.
If you see anything else that needs to be added, dates, news about each individual etc, please send.
I would very much like to know about Cassie's mother Mary Ann King as I am closely related to some Kings and want to see if she connects.

How do i access that? I just came across this site when searching for something else. We know very little about Mary Ann King. She died at 100years of age in Hawera, but I know nothing of her parents or extended family.
