Profile Research Contact | It is my understanding from research done by myself and my elderly father that Thomas Hooker came to Jamestown, VA aboard the ship George travelling as a member of the household of Francis Wyatt. Wyatt eventually moved Hooker and others to a settlement up the Rappahannock River around 1640 and as Puritans they then moved to Anne Arundel County in Maryland where it is documented throughthe Galesville, MD historical society that Thomas Hooker gave property to be used for the cemetery at West River Meeting House. I have visited this cemetery and have met with the curator of the Galesville Historical Society. I am looking for more information on the settlement in Rappahnnock area and dates as to when they moved or emigrated to Maryland. |
