John Walker was born ? .One son, Ozias Walker was born in Marion, Indiana. John married several times. His last marriage was to Barbara Reffett of Clay Indiana. She was 16 and he was 40 or so. Two son that I know of are Zachariah and William(nickname Happy)and they were from the marriage with Barbara. As of todate John Walker has a grand daughter still living. I have visited with her several times and recieved many letters. She remembers her father telling her about when he was just a little boy and his father (John) would take him to his mothers home to visit. He did not like his grandmother because she liked candy and if he had any she would take it from him. His grandmother was Cherokee. She lived with her tribe or family members. His grandfather was English but not much was remembered about him. John was a Doctor. He traveled alot using the train in Clay County Indiana. This is where he met Miss Reffett.
John was also considered a Shaman among his mothers people. He had made his home in Missouri. He was in Stoddard, Dunklin, and other counties. When he passed away, his wife Barbara took the youngest child (an Infant) and headed for Indiana. William (happy) and maybe the other children lived with Johns mothers people for about 5 to 7 years. Barbara remarried and went back to Missouri to get her children. She took some of them back to Indiana and some stayed in Missouri. John is burried somewhere in the Stoddard area but I am not sure. I am looking for Johns parents names. There is a John Walker from Tenn. but this is not my Walker. Please help me.
