Richard BLAKE was married to Elizabeth Matilda CONSTABLE in All Saints Church, Maidstone, Kent

Thy emigrated to New Zealand on the CATHERINE STEWART FORBES with 2 year old son Richard.
They left Gravesend on the 5th February 1841 and arrived in Port Nicholson (now called Wellington) on the 24th June 1841

They lived in Carterton, Wairarapa and husband Richard is buried there - cannot find her grave in Carterton at this time ...

They had at least 3 more children in New Zealand

- Son Charles Blake - born about 1841, married Alice Toole.
- A daughter of Charles and Alice, Annie Theresa Blake, married Henry Alfred Southee in 1892 in Otaki had 10 children
- Henry was the son of George Southee and Maria Ellen Sunnex

Henry and Annie's children were:
1 - Charles Southee born 1892 died 1970 aged 78 in Johnsonville, buried Makara married Kathleen Monica Kelly

2 - Eva Kathleen Southee born 1895 in Lower Hutt doed 1964 aged 59 in Hastings married Gabriel John McCarty

3 - Annie Mary Southee born 1897 died 1988 aged 91 married Thomas Power

4 - Albert Henry Southee born 1899 died 1955 aged 56 - nothing else known

5 - Eileen Southee born 1901 died ?

6 - Jessie Mary Southee born 1904 died ?

7 - Francis Joseph Southee born 1905 died ?

8 - Edgard Vincent Southee born 1907 died ?

9 - Gwendoline Constance Southee born 1910 died ?

10 - Randall Clarence Southee born 1912-15 died ?


- *Daughter Hester born in 1844 but no further information

- *Son George was born about 1846 in Wellington.
- He married Elizabeth Schafer from England, in Ballarat, Australia. They settled in Victoria and had 10 children there.

- *Son Richard, who was the first born in Maidstone
- married Mary Steel in the South Island and settled in Ashburton.
