My Grandmother Caroline (aka Karoline)Knopf, b.1878, came to the United States in 1900. I believe her father was Andrew Knopf (ake Andrey Ivanoff Knop), and mother Louise Kristen Gertz. Andrew's father is believed to be Michael Knop. Caroline's passage record states that she resided in W.Aloka Russia Poland. She married my Grandfather Louis Gertz, b.1870 (aka Ludwig Gertz), a first cousin, in Cleveland in 1900. He came to Cleveland from Platzk (could also be Plock or Plonsk) Russia Poland in 1896. Louis's parients were Jacob Gertz and Kristin Udtke. Caroline and Louis moved to Gladwin Michigan in 1909. I am looking for any information for eather of their families in Russia Poland.
