Anyone wishing for the photographs of the graves at Clareville please get in touch, often visit this actual plot. am in touch with the UK family as well. there was a lovely write up in a recent newspaper in Masterton on this family. Nov. 2012.

Trooper John Leybourne Grace is also on Greytown memorial gates. Carterton Council made an error with spelling of Leybourne, its been corrected. I have a photograph of Dead Mans Penny off John Leybourne Grace, the actual item was donated to Aratoi Museum in Masterton, and I was given permission to photograph it.. James Laurenson who married Emily is buried we believe at Terrace End Cemetery Palmerston North, died 1939, he was an accountant in Carterton. quite a few of this surname buried there. Jackson grave at Clareville is a big one...also connected to the family..

at Clareville Cemetery we have a JACKSON plot, its quite large. not too far from the Grace plot. I have a newspaper cutting which is worth reading about how Masterton managed to get the Dead Man's Penny, it was found in a desk which was bought by a lady from Masterton up in Tauranga in antique shop, on getting the desk home, she looked at it, and found his piece of history, for John Leybourne Grace... wonderful.. Am in touch with English relatives for the Grace family. Would like to be in touch with family either Grace and or Jackson please if possible.. thank you. Neich

GRACE. now this week, I managed to get a copy of Land Barons... it states in it about the GRACE family not being related to the EGLINTON its another GRACE family to confuse anyone!

The Land Barons of Wainuiomata by Gavin Wallace. Wainuiomata Historical Museum Society, makes very interesting reading.. friend from the said Society bought it up for me, so showed her the GRACE plot at Clareville Cemetery! if you want one sent to you let me know its $25 plus p & P but that is only to NZ!
