Who is Content Fish??? Who are her ancestors??

Question by maxine06

Content Fish b ABT 1774 d 18 Jul 1822 in NY. Married to Joseph Holdridge b ABT 1774 d 23 May 1846 in NY. The only child I have knowledge of was; Charles Eldridge Holdridge b 13 Oct 1795 in New London Co., Connecticut. d 17 Dec 1871 in Herkimer Co., NY. I must be missing something in my thinking as to where and how to go about searching for Content Fish. I have been unable to find anything for her existence. It seems this family of Holdridge spent time in and around Frankfort, Herkimer Co., NY. A possibility is Content born in another country and came to the US at a port in or near NY. Could it of been N/A for the Fish surname? I have exhausted my thoughts on this. Pleading for help. She was my gt gt gt grandmother, I think. Sure appreciate some help, thanking you in advance.

What a curious name, Content.

I wonder where the emphasis was placed when saying it.

CONtent or conTENT. (I hope the latter, which is much more poetic.)

I was very surprised to find just how many people have been given that name over the years - didn't know that until today's research

Hi there folks;
You will never know how much your help is appreciated. Yes it seems a lot of people named their child Content[wondering if the Mom was content when the labor pains stopped or ?] there is also a Patience Fish I have come across.
Better get back to the subject at hand, don't want John to throw me out.
Thanks again.

I assume Ngairedith, ( I wish I knew how that is pronounced,)has been looking at < familysearch.org > There are several entries for Content Fish listed. If you haven't already examined them I reckon they bear close scrutiny? Good luck.

Thanks for your searching to help me, it is all appreciated from you folks. I will give this a try, you know I am what you call computer illiterate. Some day my kids will probably decide it is too dangerous for this ole women to have it.[The danger being to you folks] Most kids worry about getting the car keys away from their Mom, not me!!!! Thanks again. :^)
