Druckemillers of Mifflin County Pa

Journal by GRANMAMIA

May name is Carroll Druckemiller Wolfe. I am daughter of Harry Russell Druckemiller (deceased) and Ruby Hamilton Druckemiller Brown. My grandparents were Russell and Ada Druckemiller of Maitland or Mifflin, I am not sure. I know my father had 15 or 16 brothers and sisters. He was raised mostly by his Aunt Nan and Uncle Harry Goss of Lewistown. He graduated high school in 1939 from Lewistown and entered the military and served in WWII. I know some of the name of aunts and uncles but not sure of all: Dick, Cris, Dutch, Butch, Dale, Fern, Forest don't know others if there were. Sisters were Betty, Rachael, Frances,Jean and one in Texas or Oklahoma and i think another. Fern and Forest were twins, one passed away don't know which. I am curious about my relatives. would love to hear from anyone. I have one cousin approximately my age is name is Gary Druckemiller. He is son of Martin Druckemiller and brother of Dale Druckemiller Knar. There is also one of my dad's cousin's named Bob Druckemiller who worked at an airport in New York years ago and moved to Arizona I think his wife was Barbara. I am sure there is a son by this marriage. As you see my father's side of the family is nearly a blank page. I was born in Lewistown Pa 1943 and family moved to NC approximately in 1949 or 1950. Father Harry passed in 1991.

Granmamia-Have your tried the LDS free site familysearch.org? I typed in only the unusual last name and Pennsylvania and came up with a number of family references, some with an "n' after the "e" in your last name. If you haven't, give it a whirl. It may form a good matrix to fill in from other sites. Their records go up to 1920 federal census, with some 1930. Volunteers do the input but I have found it quite helpful in getting a tree set up for my family. Happy Hunting! Lindsidelass@hotmail.com

Dad passed in 1991 but mom has remarried and still lives in Sanford. I have a brother who is younger than myself (i'm 68). He lives in Sanford close to mama. carroll, hi, i am Gary Druckemiller, son of Martin. was born 1/30/1944 and was in marine corps with Dale in the same outfit in 1962. I ran into Fern and Forrest on the island of Rhodes in the Mediterranian. Tried for a bit to trace family but my dad was last of 13 children i understand and with different names ( i think my dad was born Martin Luther Arnold) and he was raised by his sister who married a Druckemiller and changed his name as well. I can remember her house in Lewistown and how we crossed railroad tracks to get to the school up on the hill. Her house was across from Viscose plant. My email is recon650@gmail.com and i live in Florida now.

WOW, Hi folks,
My father was Dutch Druckemiller (one of the brothers) and he did just pass away a year ago. Sara, I remember you from when you were a baby. I used to play with Jacky and Kathy. I grew up going down the "Back Maitland Road) to gram and paps house and Aunt Jean and Uncle Pete Smarty lived across the road with Dale just across the creek from them in a trailer. I have been trying to track down my cousins and get to know some of them. I actually went to Fern or Forey's funeral in lewistown. can not remember which one it was. my mother did not get along very well with her in-laws so I have very little to go on. I did manage to track the ancestors back to the original land grant that Christian Truckemiller was given when he came to PA from Germany. That 800 acres that gram had (and I think Dale ended up with) was part of that original grant.

I can be reached at forest.fairy@wildblue.net or on facebook as Melinda Affleck
my maiden name is melinda sue druckemiller and I do actually remember Aunt Ruby and Uncle Tub.
