Like i have just commented on Marge's journal - how long is a piece of string. It seems that Harrison is a name exclusive to Yorkshire, I am finding my own search for Harrisons a bit of a problem, My Annie Harrison was married in 1846, Leeds, but despite having her fathers name (William) and his occupation (Picture Frame Maker) she still eludes me.
The problem for both of us is that there were hundreds of Harrisons living in Gisburne Forest, on the boarder of Yorkshire (West Riding) and Lancashire. They seem to be living up the Ribble Valley above Skipton, and extend across the moors to Settle.
There is a book published, but I am unable to find a copy in print yet (but i have one on order from the British Library, at my local library) I assume that it is being read by yet another Harrison who has met a brick wall lol.
the author of the book is one Bill Harrison of Giggleswick near Settle, and its titled "The Harrisons of Gisburn Forest", published by owlshaw books. However i am nervous about the fact that he does not put the price of the publication on the web page, and before i own I copy, I would like to see if it has any relavance to my own research.
