seek family of Hugh Foy HANNIGAN from Ireland circa 1847? came to New York and or Massachusetts, went to Wisconsin and lastly South Dakota. First wife, either Mary SCANLON or Elizabeth SULLIVAN said to have died in childbirth bearing 1st child: Daniel Francis HANNIGAN who mostly lived in Michigan (both peninsulas). 2nd wife was Bridget WHOOLEY who gave him many sons and one daughter who lived to maturity, Katherine. Hugh died circa 1899, probably near Henry, Codington, SD. Bridget died between 1900 federal census and 1905 state census. Their sons had SD homesteads and married BERRY, GILMON / GILMAN and BAGAN women. Some descendants went to San Diego (& other places) in CA.
