Looking for Louisa FRASER born 1852 Scotland.
The above is my great grandmother born in Scotland. The only record I can find of her birth is in Cullen,Banff. She lived her adult life in London 1st marriage to SMART. I can find no record of this marriage. Her second marriage was to George CUTLER.

Hi Kimba
Do you have details of her second marriage and does it list her fathers name and occupation.
Does the second marriage list her as Fraser formerly Smart or Smart formerly Fraser or sometimes it says "late" and sometimes it says maiden name, depending on the registry.
Is the only point of reference you have for her birth from the second marriage, only asking because they did tell little fibs if they were under age or if they were older than the husband.
If you could give as much detail as possible this all helps in finding the right Louisa.

Thank you for your help. It does say late Smart on my granmothers birth cert and prev.Fraser. I am still looking for her marriage to my granfather.
Interesting, maybe you need to look at it the other way around using SMART as the maiden name and looking for a previous marriage to FRASER. It may just be the way the registry has written it, can't hurt to try.
On her second marriage does it give her maiden name as SMART or FRASER it should also give you her fathers name and occupation, and can you post the name of the second person she married and the date would be helpful.
Thank you, her second marriage was to George CUTLER, I can't find the marriage so dont have a date. On 1881 census they are living at 2 Newport St. I think the two children aged 14 & 11 cannot be my great grandmother's children. Link RG11 piece 592 Folio 29.
Any help you can give me would be great, thank you for your help so far.
I think I may have found your marriage

you would have to purchase this and check all the details at least it will give you something more definite on them both.
It is still possible that the pair in 1881 census is them but you will need the information from the marriage certificate to double check.
Let me know if you get stuck after you get the copy of the marriage certificate.
