I am stuck
I am stuck. I cannot go passed my Great Grandfather on my fathers' side.
My G Gpa was William F Simms, born about 1886 in WV. I can find him with his wife Anabel, children and in-laws on the 1910 census, and I can find him with his wife Mabel, same children and in-laws on the 1920 census.
On the 1930 census, the children are living with the in-laws. There is no other known information for him.
Chilren:
Royden E Simms (My grandfather)
Myrtle Simms
Dorcela/Dorcella Simms
Woodrow W Simms
How do I go about finding more information about him?

Woodrow W Simms is living with Hattie Smith in 1940
Have you tried looking for a death for William F Simms in Ohio, thats where all his children seem to have been born.
Anabel /Mabel Simms (Smith)is not with her mother in 1930 so she could also have died in Ohio.
If one or other died then have you looked for a re - marriage ?
I cannot find what happened to William and Mabel after 1930 but this looks like their marriage.

This looks like it could be Mabel married to a Fred Sereman. So either Fred died or the marriage did not workout before she married William F Simms in 1906

There is nothing like a complicated family. It would appear that William F Simms and Mabel Smith must have seperated some time between 1920 and 1930
Mabel appears to marry a Howard Snyder.

Thank you for your help. In the time since I posted this message, I have found a lot of info.
Mabel was married before she married my g gpa (Fred Sierman). They had a daughter (Myrtle), but was later considered my g gpas daughter in a later census.
Mabel did remarry a Howard Snyder. (William's sister also married a Howard Snyder. Trying to prove it.)
William did remarry a Mary G. If you look at my gpas (Royden Simms) burial record at Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, it lists her as mother. His death record info is also correct, I confirmed that info on his dc.
I have made contact with my gpas sister's family. Trying to make contact with his 1/2 sisters and brothers family.
I have made it to William F's gma, 1797.
Thank you for your help.
