FLOOD - HAMPSHIRE, ENGLAND

FLOOD – This Flood family came from Hampshire in England. The line I am researching begins with George who was born in 1815, and his son George H. Flood, who was born in 1845 in Southampton.
George H. Flood married Matilda who was born in 1848 in Southampton also. They had four children that I know of: George Henry Flood (b: 1870), William Bishop Flood (b: 1872), Thomas Scott Flood (b: 1876) & Frederick J. Flood (b: 1878).
I know that Frederick J. Flood married Mary Georgina Macey. But I do not know what happened to the rest of the children, and I would like to. I would also like to find out a little more about George and his father.

I see that the information you have here is from the 1881 census, do you have any other details. I think for instance that Matilda may be Maltilda Bishop, her marriage certificate with George Henry is Southampton 2c 33 of the June quarter of 1868, according to the BMD index, but dont pay for a certificate yet, I will see if I can get some information from the archives for you.

I live in Portsmouth about 15 miles away, and go to Southampton about 6 times a year with work, I teach for the Museum (and archive) service. If you don't mind waiting (its murder to park in there), I will see if I can get you some more details.

yes, George H. is George Henry, his birth certificate is March quarter of 1845, southampton 7 186. His son, same name is in the june quarter of 1870, Southampton 2c 14.

Hi,
Name is James Flood, still live in Southampton.
George Henry Flood (1815) Father was Adam Flood 1841 census living with wife Elizabeth Flood nee Bartley. Adam was born in 1775 in Hampshire and died in 1847 Southampton.Have his death cert.Have a lot of information if needed. Adam is my Great great great great great Grandad.But I am having problems after him. Anyone please advise?

Frederick J. Flood & Mary Georgina Macey.

They had eight children, Nellie 1897,Margaret Annie 1898,Mabel Florence 1900, Fredrick James 1903, Beatrice 1905, Gladys 1911, Alice 1915 and Daisey 1921.
