He had at least three children:

Alfred Monroe, b. 29 Oct 1864, Pendleton Co. KY and d. 18 Apr 1937, Maysville, Mason Co. KY

In <1860> William was married to Susan Jacobs.
In <1880> William married a Mary M. (unknown).

William may have served in the Civil War for the Union in the 36th Infantry - Ohio from 1864-1865.
