Trying to locate a death of Sarah Cameron Goodwin / Boddington

Query by BobEvans

Dear Friends,
Trying to find a death notice for a Sarah Cameron Goodwin / Boddington,
I "think" she was "married" (been unable to verify this through the Victorian BDM,) in the year
1914, details I have are as follows:

Name: Sarah Cameron Boddington
Born: 1887, Melbourne Victoria, Australia
Death: UNKNOWN
Buried: UNKNOWN
Marriage: UNKNOWN
Partnered/Married: Leslie Frederick Burliegh Goodwin
Born: 1867, St Andrews, Victoria, Australia
Death: Aug 1949, Panton Hill, Victoria, Australia
Buried: Fawkner Cemetery, Victoria, Australia
Children:
Dorthy Goodwin Boddington, Leslie Cameron Goodwin, James Burleigh Goodwin.

As you can see, I have done extensive research on this family, and would appreciate any assistance
to track down this elusive death date. I know she was alive in 1914, (some researchers are stating
a death date in the same year, maybe at the birth?? I have been unable to find any burial date.

Hi Bob.

There was a Leslie Frederick Burleigh GOODWIN and Ellen MORRISON
having a daughter named Alexandra Beatrice Rebecca GOODWIN in South Yarra, Victoria, in 1902. Could be the same Leslie. Looking at the death records this Leslie and Ellen had another three children born around the 1900s.

I noticed in the birth records Sarah was also recorded as BODDIN and BURNS, but these may have been index or informant errors.

I've searched all the Australian marriage records but unable to locate a marriage for Leslie and Sarah, nor have I come across Sarah's death to date.

Will have another look tomorrow.

Cheers.

Thanks Tonkin,
Came across the same errors and have inserted notes in my tree to that affect, stating errors of spelling etc. A bit of a mystery, but I will continue, thanks for your help.
Leslie married twice with one divorce, and then either married again, or partnered with another. (Its a mess!)

Regards, Robert

Thank you so much for your help, I have a lot of the info except I gathered them from other locations, and I agree with your statement that it appears that they lived together as husband and wife even though they were not married.
I just would like to locate her burial, but we'll wait and see what turns up.
The divorce is a classic :) thank you. Robert

Leslie appears with Cameron on 1914 but he is on his own in 1919 Roll, did they separate or did she die, do Leslie Cameron or Burleigh James' marriage give any clues on Sarah Cameron?

I wonder if there are any clues as for Ellen on Winifred's marriage?

by BobEvans on 2013-01-28 05:44:43

Leslie it looks like, lived with (Sarah) Cameron Boddington, info so far seems to indicate that she left him (this time) and that he later took up with another woman (whom he married at 64) and died at age 82.
No record has been found in relation to Sarah Cameron Boddington/Goodwin, either in relation to death, marriage, or burial.
So, that's where we are at, I have not got the marriage cert's, for the children but it is an interesting point.
Thanks for your insight. Robert
