My greatgrandfather was Ernest Bergmeier, Sr. and came to America in about 1860 from Stadthagen, Germany. I know that he came to live in Chicago with a sister Sophie (Sophia) whom I believe married a Louis Ruhe. I am interested in any information on him and his family, brothers, sisters, parents, etc. from Germany and the early years in Illinois. I know him and my great grandmother, Caroline Guritz, were married in Chicago and lived in the Will County Illinois area before moving to Minnesota. Any info would be appreciated.
