Do you have some christen names for the Hei family and where they settled in the USA.
Dates of birth and where in Germany they were born.
Jacob Hei my Great Grandfather came from Prussia in 1875
They settled in Plum City, Wisconsin
He did come over with his wife, but not sure of her name.
That's all I know!
I found this which gives dates of birth for Jacob and his wife Margreth

I have tried looking for a Christening for Jacob & Margret's children in hope of finding margrat's maiden name with no luck. I have also tried looking for Jacob & Margret's marriage in 1850 in Prussia with no luck.
You could try a google search :
German wedding record 1850
Prussia wedding record 1850
Your problem is not knowing where in Prussia/ Germany they were born.
I was told from another family member that Jacob was from Trier, Germany or Prussia. I Googled and Binged that info and could not find anything. You would think there would be grave site records published.
Thanks noggin!
Trier is in Germany on the river MoselI was there in 1963 at a working boys hostel run by monks and went back last year to see how it had changed.
You might try following this up:
Margaret Steffen
Birth March 1830 in Prussia
Married Jacob Hei 1850 in Prussia
Death Feb 1909
Found on a family tree. there were no parents listed.
I've seen pictures on the internet, very interesting city. They say it is the oldest city in Germany. What's weird is 10 years ago I sent off to some company for a family crest and it came back with Fish on the crest shield. Not sure how correct this is but if so wonder if this mean my family either lived by the water or where fishermen? I was born in 1963. FYI!
this site might be worth a look:
