I am seeking information about the family of Richard HARGREAVES, b. abt 1867 in Blackburn, England. Richard and his wife, Sarah Jane ASHWORTH (b. abt 1868) were witnesses at the wedding of my GGgrandparents, Abraham LIGHTBOWN and Hannah HAWORTH.

In 1893, Richard immigrated to USA on the SS Cephalonia, arriving Boston on April 15. One month later, Sarah Jane and her mother (Rachel ASHWORTH nee SMITH) arrived in Boston on the same ship. They were married in the US, and their son, Robert HARGREAVES, was born in Whitinsville, Massachusetts on 21 Jul 1895.

In 1895, my GGgrandfather Abraham LIGHTBOWN arrived in Boston on the SS Cephalonia with a John ASTLEY. The ship's passenger manifest indicates that both were en route to see HARGREAVES in Whitinsville. Abraham eventually settled in Whitinsville; I do not know what became of John ASTLEY.

Richard and Sarah ASHWORTH are buried near Abraham and Hannah LIGHTBOWN in Pine Grove Cemetery, Whitinsville, MA, USA.

I am interested in learning more about the parents/ancestors of Richard and Sarah, to see if I can identify a relation to the LIGHTBOWN family.
