| I am seeking information about Pauline (WEATHERBURN) GOLDMAN.
According to family lore, Pauline WEATHERBURN was the 4th child of Lancelot WEATHERBURN and Sarah Ann HARTLEY, of Bury, Lancashire, England. (Lancelot & Sarah are my GGGgrandparents.) Pauline is said to have married an Irving GOLDMAN in the New York City area, and to have had a son named Warren.
I cannot confirm through any written documentation that Pauline actually existed, or that she is related to the family in the manner described. Her gravestone, in Whitinsville, MA, reads "Pauline WEATHERBURN, wife of Irving GOLDMAN," and indicates she was born in 1879 and died on 25 July 1934. I cannot locate any birth, death, or marriage records for her, nor any ship's records (I have searched both Ellis Island and port of Boston for all women named Pauline arriving in the 1890s).
The only near-match is a listing in the 1930 US Census for Kings Co., NY (Brooklyn), 11th District, Block B, Roy Court, 302-320. It shows:
Isadore GOLDMAN, 46, married at age 25, b. NY, parents b. England, teacher in public school
Pauline GOLDMAN, wife, 46, married at age 25, b. England, parents b. England, naturalized 1898
Warren GOLDMAN, son, 7, b. NY
Although this is close, it would put her DOB closer to 1884, and the husband's first name is inconsistent.
I have not pursued her immigration records yet. In the meantime, if anyone has her in their tree, please let me know. |
