Profile Research Contact | Hi, I am attempting to complete a one name study of the surmane Calladine, and all its variations in England. I suppose it would be more correct to say that I am attempting to finish the start of a one name study.

Dave, I have read your material on Ancestry.com and you mentioned that you were transcribing the Parish Registers of Derbyshire. Did this get finished. My Caladines/Calladines/Calodines/Callidines seem to be mostly from Chesterfield, Derbyshire. I live in Australia and there are quite a few Caladines here whose ancestor was my g.grandfather Gervase,Jervese,Jervice,Jervis,Jarvis (take your pick) Calladine, born 1851, Chesterfield. His death certificate lists his mother as Harriet Calladine and his father as John Lomas - they did not marry. Jarvis was raised by his grandparents Thomas Calladine and Mary Bostwick.

Dave: I have sent the following to various people interested in our names and variants. Please be good enough to tell me your email ID so that I can contact you direct in future. Arthur Carden, <carden@one-name.org>
You will be interested to hear that I will be meeting Professor Chris Calladine in Cambridge on February 16. He says he is very interested in the origins of our names. I hope to persuade him to join either your DNA project or mine. I have suggested he invite Professor Carradine to join us.
