It wasn't until my father got stationed at Clark Air Base that the families began to relocate to the Angeles City, Pampanga area.

Hi, enishimoto! It seems we both will have extreme difficulties finding official paperwork for our filipino roots and will have to rely on information supplied by our families. Our ancestors had their own unique written language prior to the Spanish invasion, but most of their writing was for communication purposes and for poetry. Spain managed to wipe out much of our cultural histories, except what is handed down thru the family. Any records that may have been kept officially may have been destroyed during both the Spanish and Japanese invasion due to the wars.
Perhaps, for our children's sake, we will be able to create these family histories for future generations. We might become the record keepers of our cultural heritage. With these journals, I am collecting historical experiences, and various other filipino memories.

Actually, all you have to do is use http://familysearch.org to order church recs, provided that they have church recs & that you know the town & which church exactly your ancestors belonged to. That's how I did the research on my paternal grandmother who came from Argao, Cebu & left there in 1922. I did all the research at the Family History Center in Los Angeles California.

I have relatives from the Philippines as well, from Lamacan Argao, Cebu. I can't find any paperwork from there, so I don't have much information. My great-great grandparents born and died there, and had either 4 or 5 children, one of which came to Hawaii to do labor work. Good luck with your search
