The village goes back to the Limes Road of the Roman empire. A thousand years ago there lived a half dozen families without last names in the village. They were owned by Cloister Elching and a dramatic event around AD 1000 gave them freedom and a name .They moved down the Danube, up the Nekar and spread across Franconia. Out of about. 40 there are now 12-13000 today across the world.
