I am seeking Johann Alberts WEMMEN, b. abt. 1677 place unknown, d. 8 Mar 1715 place unknown, m. 25 Nov 1697 Etzel, Ostfriesland Lisabeth HARMENS, b. unknown, d. 1 Sep 1735 Etzel, Ostfriesland. I have no information on the ancestors of the above. Their descendants continued to live in Etzel. My great great-grandmother, Katharina Sophia WEMMEN, b. 1814, immigrated from Etzel in 1871 with her husband, Michel TOBIASSEN, b. 1811. The WEMMEN surname was attached to the names of each ancestor in each generation. One of the ancestors, Johann Alberts WEMMEN, b. 1737, became the Muehlenzimmermeister in Etzel. He was the son of Albert Janssen WEMMEN, b. 1701 Etzel. The occupations for other generations are not recorded.
