Just starting to research our family tree. Here is what is known. My fathers father: John James Aitken Sr. born in Canada (Ontario?) 1893, became American citizen in 1911. Married Grace Irene Gilmore, born in Canada (Ontario?) in 1896. They were married in 1916 I believe. Had 3 children. Donald, Barbara, and John Jr. My father (John James Aitken Jr.) was born on July 8th, 1926 in Watertown N.Y. My Grandparents moved the family to Syracuse N.Y. shortly thereafter. I believe that during the 1930 Census they resided at Saline Street or Sabine Street in Syracuse. The oldest brother (my uncle Donald) married my aunt Arlene. And the older sister (my aunt Barbara) married my uncle Duke I believe. Uncle Donald and and Aunt Arlene had one daughter (my cousin) named Donna Jeane. And she married a Joe Bertalina when she grew up. She would be @ 50 right now.
My father (John James Aitken Jr.) resided in Old Forge N.Y. after he got out of the Army when WWII was over. Among other things he worked at the Enchanted Forest, the fire dept. and then spent nearly 38 years with Utica Duxbak. He moved to Montgomery, Alabama in the late 50's after meeting my mother Addie Belle Wilson. I know that I still have second cousins living in Canada, one that I met years back named Carole (daughter of Herbert & Shirley Aitken of Ontario) who would be @ 45 or so (my age). Not much to go on right now but as I said I am just starting on this project. Any help would be appreciated.
