Hi Markav

Thanks for the reply sadly I have very little info to go on here, just what my father remembers being told many years ago, his gg grandfather William Roberts died in a mining accident near Bodmin. His daughter Mary Jane was born 1881 and William was deceased by 1905 according to her marriage certificate. I found one record that looked promising on ancestry but wrong part of Cornwall (St.Just) and when I cross referenced it with newspapers that William Roberts was listed as single no dependants. I have not been able to find anything else that fits.

do you know who william married or his daughter mary jane's husbands name and any brothers and sister jane may have had?

I'd love to know if 2 of my 4th great uncles died in a mine. One was a miner and one was a carpenter which was needed. Both were in NSW.

Mary Jane Roberts married Richard Henry Deacon, in Plymouth 1906, but thats is all I have on the Roberts family was hoping I would be able to find something which would allow me to trace them.

Hi Markav

Yes thats the family, I have managed to trace the Deacons quite well but the maternal line I cant seem to get further back, I think it does not help that her father was William Roberts which is quite a common name!

Hi, I have found her on the 1939 register and her birth date is given as 29th July 1881 so i believe this may be her

Births Sep 1881
Roberts Mary Jane Redruth 5c 213
