my line starts with a john newman I don't know where or when he was born but he married a Catharine parker in 1790 in Birmingham England they were part of the bond street Baptist church Catharine was known as kitty they had a son Elijah who married a mary innes who inturn had a son john who married an Elizabeth griffins who in turn had a son Alfred john who married Catherine wild from germany they had a daughter Catherine louisa known as lizzie who married joseph goodenough I do have more on this branch of the family

ive been trying to find out where my john was born what intrigues me as well is that he could read and write now I d thought of long Compton as I'm also looking for a Thomas newman who married a Lydia west in 1738 as there is a Lydia west and Thomas newman nearby they actually got married in Southampton before sailing for Georgia but as yet ive not found anything on them johns burial is right in so far as ive gathered what put me off long Compton is that it is a village and with john being able to read n write it sort of threw me I cant find anything on Catharine parker either except through her death it shows she was born in 1770 but not where thro dna ive not found anything either ive found in dna the newman line that came from the Virginia grocers and walter newman whose dad left London for Ireland then walter went usa and hen some lines downton Stourbridge and one that went to Jamaica but nothing close enough to help me make the link ive made extensive trees trying to solve this puzzle the newmans ae my pet project and drive me mad lol louise
