Hello, I am an descendant of the Hattabaugh's who came to southern Indiana from Virginia and Pennsylvania. My great-grandfathers, grandfather, and great-grandmothers, are all from, originally, Jackson and Washington County, Indiana. The Vallonia area is where my grandfather Ivan Chester Hattabaugh was born in 1910. He was the 3rd son of Clarence and Willie Blackwood Hattabaugh. Clarence moved to the northern part of the state to farm for a man, who owned property in both Jackson County and White County. My great-grandfather died in 1918 in White County, Indiana, but most of his family as well as Willie's family was in Jackson County. Clarence's parents were Newton and Josephine Fleenor Hattabaugh. Newton's father was Jonathan and Elizabeth Walker Hattabaugh. Jonathan's parents were Michael and Jane Stalker Hattabaugh.
Now, Willie's parents were William Lafayette and Almeda Crowe Blackwood, and William's parents were Ira and Paulina Hattabaugh Blackwood. Josephine Fleenor Hattabaugh's parents were James and Phoebe Trueblood Fleenor. I'm searching and trying to put this all together. I'd love to find some photographs of these ancestors and learn some history of the family. I have been to Jackson County several times as a child and as an adult.
