J Vardaman Mize

Journal by DMIZE

Vardaman Mize was found on a marriage certificate California. Listed as the father of the groom from Mississippi. The correct spelling of the name was researched further finding him listed buried in Oklahoma alone with Blanche Materson who was also on the certificate as the mother of the groom.

If the marriage you mention is that of Paul Marvin Mize and Rosemary Noel Pappas the record states the Father of Paul as James Vardaman Mize born in Mississippi & Mother as Blanche Masterson born in Arkansaw or Arkansas.
Using the available census information the only close matches to James Vardaman are:
1920, J Vardaman Mize(15) living with Father James M Mize(56) and Mother America Mize(55) in Calhoun, Mississippi
1910 (at the same address as in 1920) Vardaman Mize(5), Father James M Mize(46) and Mother America Mize(45). 4 older siblings of Vardaman listed in 1910. John W Mize(M-21), Agnes G Mize(F-20), Jessie Mize(M-18) & Pearl Mize(F-16)

James Vardaman's parents appear to have Blanche(21) living with them in 1930 as she is listed as Daughter-in-law who was married at age 18. 2 others at the same address are James M Mize Jr(M-1) son and Georgia L Mize(F-21) she is recorded as grandaughter but also married. I could not find James Vardaman in 1930.
