I am researching the Levin/Levine/Leo and Edlund/Glader families from Sweden. They both settled in central PA. August (Leo - his "soldier" surname) Levin emigrated first in 1880 to Iron Mountain, Michigan, only to apparently die two years later -- before sending for the rest of his family. I would love to find more info on him in particular.

August Levin's date of death is listed as 3 Sep 1882 in Swedish Household Examination Records. He is listed as "dead in America". He may have been a railroad worker. Does anyone know of a database of railway or mining deaths from that time period? Apparently, cholera was another leading cause of death at the time.
