I am researching James Ross, my gggg grandfather, b. about 1788 in TN or VA, m. Elizabeth Parrott on 28 July 1829 in Fayette Co., OH.
James died in Mahaska Territory, IA in 1843. Elizabeth died in Wapello Co, IA in 1853 or 1857. I have visited Mahaska Co. IA, and found the ESTATE PROBATE PAPERS for James, dated 1846 to 1850. Some of the names mentioned on the papers (I believe related to each other) are: Joseph Ross, George Parrott, William and Phillip Fent, Elizabeth Ross and her son my ggg grandfather Branson M. Ross. I have scanned the estate copies. I can send copies of the scanned estate papers to anyone interested.
If anyone has information on James, I would appreciate it. I would also like to locate the burial place of James and Elizabeth Ross.
