After you have clicked on the link do a search for Frances Botten born 1766 Pembury Kent England with tree owner 'Patricia'.

Thank you. Yes Stephen was a son of Frances before her marriage to Richard Ashdown. But as far as I can gather he was raised by his grandparents.

Thanks for the referral to Patricia on Genes Reunited, we were in contact last year for a bit, and I have viewed her tree and she mine. Thank you for thinking of me though, much appreciated. By the way John ASHDOWN is a GG Great Uncle, my GG grandfather was George ASHDOWN.
