Silas was born abt 1773 in Bertie County North Carolina. He married Sarah Wynns who was born 04/19/1777 in Bertie County, North Carolina, daughter of Watkin William Wynns and Ann Ward. I am trying to locate the names of the parents of Silas Bennett and if he and Sarah Wynns had any children. Also death dates for Sarah and Silas. Thank you for any help Crystal |

Diannew on 2008-10-15 08:19:09John and Silas Bennett married sisters; John married Margaret "Peggy" Wynne. (John Bennett Boddie, Historic Southern Families Vol. II; he misidentified Ann's last name initially but corrected it to Ward in a subsequent volume. You probably have already seen these references.) It is possible that he and Silas are the grandsons mentioned in the will of William Bennett--"Last Will and Testament of William Bennett-1795." See what you think. I would love to find John's "roots."
This name Silas Bennett sounds familiar to me. Let me check my tree and see if he's there. So many of these Bennetts used the same names down through the generations so finding that needle in the haystack is next to impossible.
