Profile Research Contact | Sigismund Rentzsch was a German clockmaker who settled in London in 1811 and became quite well known. He had two wives, Dorothea Meyer (who came to England with him) and Mary Ransome (1796-1874). He had 16 children. His daughter, Rosina Esther (1835-1909), married Edward Pilkington Homan of Edenderry, Offaly, Ireland and they were my great grandparents: their daughter, Charlotte, married Thomas Potterton of Carbury, Kildare. Mary Walker, nee Rentzsch (b.1934) is descended from the first marriage and has some of Sigismund's letters. Among the other descendants of Sigismund Rentzsch are the names: Allibert, Baverstock, Berliet, and Proton. My website is www.potterton.ie |
