I believe my great grandfather Lewis Smith Barraclough, born in Little Horton, Yorkshire in 1856 and after the death of his mother and his father Jonas remarrying, Jonas took his familyin 1860 to New Zealand to go into business with his brother John at Oamaru.

Hi,
Have you tried the papers past website. Not sure of the website URL but you can google 'papers past' and it will come up.
It's a website that is maintained by the Turnbull Library. I have found a lot of my ancestors BDM and advertisements. It's easy to use just put in the surname.
Good luck
