I am tracing the history of the Wood family of Alveley, Shropshire, England and families linked to it. My focus is the line from William Wood, born in about 1739 in Alveley, and in particular the branch descended from William Wood, born in 1832 in Alveley, who settled in Oldbury, Worcestershire, probably during the 1840s and became a cordwainer.
