Trying to find out what happened to T.L. Cook ?, Married 1848 at Launceston to a widow Ann (nee Gillies) Somerville (with Four children born in NSW) my grt grt grandmother.
They had three children in Launceston.
In 1850 became Captain T.L. Cook and captained the ship Nautilus which was involved in the coastal shipping trade.
In the middle of 1853 he left Tasmania for Melbourne where he purchased the Black Bull Hotel.
In 1854 he was found insolvent and fled the colony of Victoria. Could anyone help me find out how and when he came to Tasmania and where he later fled to.
There was a Thomas Cook christened on 27/08/1811 at Auckland St Helens the brother of Mathew, James, Richard, William, Jacob the sons of John Cook and Hannah Bowman.
Is this the same Thomas Cook ???
Hoping some one can help.

Goto the Emigrants to Australia childboard. Post a new topic (like a journal here) re your TL COOK. Lots of rootschatters have the pioneers indexes on cd-rom and can do lookups.

Go through the resources available for Tasmania at rootschat and also here at familytreecircles. Just do a search on 'Tasmania' and read journal I've written, also Victoria has lots of great sites to check out.
