1550 John Lanchbrey of Chadlington, Oxfordshire

Journal by Dave Calladine

I am the direct descendant (g9 grandson) of John Launchbury. John was born the eldest of four children to Richard Lanchepreye and his wife (c.1500 - Jan 22 1570) about 1550. He was born into the small village of Chadlington, Oxfordshire,

John married Susanna Taylor, but she died in 1608, so he must have remarried before his death, as his will confirms.

John Launchbury I do not know much about after his baptism on August 3, 1578. He must have survived into his forties to be mentioned in the will above.
Hercules Lanchbuery was a Yeoman farmer (numbered 1536 on my Ahnentafel system) and by his death (aged 65) in 1645 he had accumulated some wealth.
