This story starts out with my father telling me about how my grandfather came to the United States from Poland to find a better life. How in Poland he and his brothers worked in the Potato fields living a simple life. Unfortunately living in Russian occupied Poland was a life no one today can really understand, the hardships were truely unbearable. Not if but when the Russians needed men for their army they would simply go to the potato fields, showing up with guns and forcing the able bodied men into wagons and were told "You are now in the Russian Army". Its no wonder why so many people immigrated to the United States from Poland during the early 1900's. My Grandfather Stanislaw (Stanley),and four of his brothers John, Walter, Frank and Joseph came here starting around 1904. Their father's name was Casimir and mothers name was Josephine.
