Thank you for all that info. Alison.
Peter Galletly who married Marjorie McLauchlan is related to Ann Galletly. I am trying to find out if James McLauchlan snr. is related to John McLauchlan born 1801 Dunkeld, Perthshire who came to New Zealand on the Cornubia in 1855. Is he a brother, cousin or no connection except perhaps from way back. John too had a son, James McLauchlan born in Perth but he (father) married May Milne born Cargill. The Galletlys were sponsored to NZ by eith John McL snr. or his son also John.
Thank you.

Glad to be of some assistance to you Tiffany. By the way I am just starting to research my MILNE ancestors who were from Aberdeen, Scotland - one place name says Crimondgarth but not sure of correct spelling - marriage connections with the BUCHAN clan. See my journal/s.

Evagean Publishing ... scroll down to see entry for "To Victoria, Australia and Beyond - The story of Alexander McKenzie Allan and Margaret Galletly and family from Perthshire, Scotland.(488pp)".
Glentanner passenger records - London to Lyttleton NZ mentions a GALLETLY family.
Family Album and Genealogy of Eva Mary Berriman mentions that on an 1845 report GALLETLY was one of the common surnames in Kinclaven, Perth, Scotland.
I see that you are a rootschatter as well. Good stuff.
You might have to purchase marriage cert, hoping that it will contain parents names of the bride and groom for confirmation and peace of mind.
Cheerio
