My name is Steve Benton and I am researching my family history.
I have traced my ancestors back to Rotherham, Yorkshire, England.
My most distant ancestor I have found is John Benton who was born in Rotherham about 1795. His spouse was Hannah born about 1800 in Derbyshire, Engalnd and their children were William who was born about 1823 in Goole, Yorkshire and is my great- great grandfather. He married Harriett Batty. Their second son was John who was born about 1824 in Rotherham and married Martha who was born about 1829 in Sheffield, Yorkshire; The third son was Abraham who was born about 1829 in Sheffield, Yorkshire and married Mary Ann. I would greatly appreciate any new information about these relatives or their families.
