Dear Kelmark, Hi. Let me know if you have connections with these EATHERs in my family tree:-

James EATHER born abt 1860 married 1880 Gunnedah NSW to Isabella Jane NOWLAND b1858 Tamworth, d1954 Glen Innes, daughter of Edward NOWLAND and Sarah BUSHELL.

James & Isabella EATHER had 5 known children, possibly more:-

1.Edward Carl EATHER b1881 Gunnedah d1929 Glen Innes NSW
2.Sarah Elsie EATHER b 1 June 1883 "Breeza", Gunnedah NSW, d 15 May 1964 Emmaville NSW, buried Deepwater *
Married 21 Jun 1911 Deepwater NSW to Andrew Ernest MOULE 1883-1952, son of Charles MOULE and Mary GERKE. I have GERKE ancestral lines back to 1500s Prussia through my contact with G.Shirra as I have lots of Prussian ancestral lines through my ancestor Elizabeth ORTH 1835~1914.
3.Pearl EATHER b 1885 Gunnedah NSW, married Robert John Hawksley LOCKWOOD b abt 1885 unknown, d 1944 Tenterfield NSW, son of John Hawksley LOCKWOOD and Sarah WATSON that settled Wellingrove, Glen Innes, Emmaville, Deepwater, Tenterfield areas NSW.
4.Ruby EATHER b 1888 Glen Innes NSW
5.Claude L. EATHER 1900~1900 Tenterfield NSW.

Dear Kelmark, Looks like I've found the answer to my own question. Yes there is a link between our trees after all ... fairly high up though...

Website below - RootsWeb World Connect Project has EATHER tree going back to at least 1730.

That's great! Have you read the books on the family by John St Pierre? Available at State Library or you can buy them off him directly. He also lives in QLD. I can give you details if you don't already have. Books go back to 1500s.

I see, from my books and software too. Your Charles and my Rachel were siblings. You know that Charles was a twin (Thomas is the other)? b 01/10/1800 at Windsor, NSW.

Do you have Ann Gough's info? I have a little. Also did you know about the property Charles owned etc? It is in the 1st book and probably Vol 5 on Thomas & Charles I think but you would have to check that!

Dear Kelmark, Glad to be of assistance.

Unfortunately the EATHERs weren't my ancestors, but the ORTHs.

A researcher I had come across via our trees at GenesReunited, a fellow from Brisbane but now living in the States had personally organised a rather large gedcom file, researched, and added to over the years, by himself, other extended family members, and hired researchers searching church records in Germany.

I've got an old painting of a bridge at sunset painted by an Eather Charles. I am stumped on finding accurate information on the age or reason for the painting i can be reacheg by traceyjgodfrey@yahoo.com

Goodness, I've just found even more EATHERs in my tree whilst helping my distant cousin Betty on the GIDDINS side.

MARRIAGE
Ruby Irene GIDDINS to John Roland EATHER 1908 Richmond NSW
Kate Eliza BARWICK * to John Wellesley EATHER 1881 Kurrajong NSW

*The BARWICKs were ancestors of the GIDDINS in my tree.
