Brady, William J., Policeman, Toronto, Canada

Journal by crazycatlady2

Anyone out there related to William J. Brady, b.abt 1852 in Ontario of Irish descent. He was a Policeman in 1881, Toronto, Ontario Canada. He married Annie b.1853 in Ontario of Irish descent. Their children were Albert b.1879, Gertrude b.1880, William b.1884, Alfred b.1885, Charles b.1886 and Hilda b.1894.
There is some mystery surrounding William J. Brady after 1900. Rumour says he left his family and moved to the USA and died about 1920.
If anyone out there has information on this William Brady I would be forever thankful.
Cheers!

Hi crazycatlady2,

My name is Greg and I believe the person you may be inquiring about is my Great Grandfather, my grandfather being Alfred Brady. That being said, I have no info on him other then his name, information on my grandfather is really sparse as well. Your post is quite old, but still hope to hear back from you.

Thanks,
Greg Brady

I hope this message isn't being repeated. It seems the administrator says there's a problem. See below;
I am also a descendant of the Brady's/Forbes'. My grandmother Hilda was your grandfathers sister. I have put a family tree on Ancestry.ca if you're interested. At this point I have only listed grandparents but there are some interesting pictures etc. Eileen Morrison of Huron County has done extensive research on the Forbes family, unfortunately I don't have a contact address for her. There is a free database called Rootsweb.com (associated w/Ancestry.com) and you may find more information there.
Happy hunting. Cheers
ML

Thank you for responding, I'll be sure to check your tree out, I also have a Tree on Ancestry as well. Would you be aware of any info on the rest of the siblings at all? and I would also be curious to know about Hilda's family. and could be happy to return the info on Alfred's family.

Thxs,
Greg

Hi Greg,
I have our great grandmother Annie Brady's (Jones) death certificate and her obituary. She is buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in Toronto. I also have a fuzzy picture of her that I have yet to post. I cannot find a darn thing on William Joseph Brady other than in the census records. In the 1891 records his mother is listed (with the family) as Elizabeth (71) but I cannot find a birth record, marriage certificate or death certificate for any similar Brady. So far as the siblings are concerned William died very young (age24?) and Charles died (age47?). My grandmother Hilda (the baby) lived to be 94. She had 13 children (1 set of twins) but only 9 survived. Check out my tree, a family wedding picture is there. Keep in touch. I will keep searching. ML

Hi ML,
Well my Grandfather Alfred had 12 children, and one that was still born that I found record of in a death certificate. Alfred Died when he was about 65. Would glady share the couple pictures of him I have if interested. Do not have any on Ancestry, please feel free to contact me "privately" on here and I can send them to you, if you are comfortable with that.
Thxs,
Greg
