alleycat, I am a descendant of Mathew Stewart born in VA and came to Limestone County, Alabama sometime before the 1820 census where he was found. He married Nancy Fletcher, daughter of John and Susannah? Fletcher. They came to Limestone County also. I don't know who the parentage of my Mathew is. Was hoping that you might in your research have run across the 4 names I mentioned. It is ironic that you mention the Stewart and Fletcher surnames in your line too. There were more Fletcher girls and one married a Malone from Limestone County as well. It is not known whether Mathew followed Nancy and her family to Alabama or whether the Fletchers came this was with Mathew.
