Cultural Collections incorporates the University of Newcastle, Australia's Archives, Rare Books and Special Collections. It is the home of the historical and cultural memory of the University and its regional context.

Our role is to protect and safeguard the documentary history of the University and its regional context for current research and for future generations.

Photos cover not only Newcastle and its region, but places that people from the area travelled to during wars and other actions.
