Lillian was born in Maryborough Queensland Australia to emigrant parents Henry Oughton & Mary Ann Britton they came from Norfolk England and already had two children that I know of, I would love any information. Mary Ann Britton was related to Rev Richard Johnson

Not your Henry & Mary but a Mary 21 Oughton and Arthur 26 Oughton came out to Queensland from London on the "Planet" in June 1868.

The Sydney Morning Herald 3rd April 1914 page 10, has a couple of In Memoriam Notices for a Henry Oughton who died on April 3rd 1911 and one is place by his daughter Florrie. This probably is Florence who was born in Queensland in 1888 which adds to allycat's post earlier.

These records can sometimes be inaccurrate . These look the part . I also think the original surname may be " Houghton " as the name only appears to go back to an " Adulphus Oughton " Warwickshire - Eng 1625
from then on not very much of that surname showing . Their is also a

I had a look at the historical records of Queensland online and didn't find any OUGHTON families listed whatsoever. Perhaps the surname was spelled differently? It's also a good idea to check the NSW bdms and I think I found your family.
