I have information of 2 John Mollins of Somerset, father and son. The dates of neither match yours, but they do straddle ie. 1741 & 1774, so there could be some commonality. The son emigrated to New Brunswick, Canada in 1816. If you are interested, I am willing to share information.

Hello Jack,

Thank you for getting in touch. The son, born in 1774, looks like the John Mollins that we are looking for. We know he emigrated to Canada in 1816.

In an application for a land grant in St. John,N.B., Canada, in 1819 John Mollins says that he came from Somerset,England and that he has 10 children (5 boys & 5 girls). In his son Edwin's will, he claims that they came from London in 1816 when he was about 12 years old.

I have the New Brunswick line from John to myself.

I would love to have as much information as you have on this line in England and will gladly share any information I have. You can contact me at mtic@verizon.net.

Thanks,
Stephen Mollins
